Initial D - The 4th Stage!

Action-packed anime at its stylized best - INQ7.net: "A balance between realism and stylization is one of the major qualities of Initial D: Fourth Stage, the newest series that ANIMAX shall bring soon to the tubes of anime lovers around the country. The anime and manga focuses on the world of Japanese street car racing, where all the action is concentrated in the mountain passes--called toge--and never in cities nor urban areas, and the drift racing style is emphasized in particular. The manga is competently drawn by famous artist Shuichi Shigeno, who started publishing the manga in 1995, featured in the Japanese publication Kodansha's Young on a weekly basis.

Set in the late 1990s, the first installation of Initial D followed the adventures of Takumi Fujiwara, an 18-year-old lad who helps his father run a tofu shop by delivering every morning to a hotel over Mount Akina in Gunma Prefecture using his father's Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT-APEX. Driving through the mountain pass every morning to deliver tofu for five years developed Takumi's
skills in drift technique driving and has transformed him to become a mighty force on the road that is not to be ignored."

Alright race fans, fasten your seatbelts for this one!!!
